It’s been another great month here at Bread & With It! I’ve had my own little ego boost with the nice comments said about me by Deborah over at stinkykitchen.com. You will fall in love with her personality if you read her “about me” page. Anyway, it was exciting for me to know that people are actually reading these reports and gaining some form of benefit! Enough of that. Lets talk money!
October Traffic – 13,928 pageviews
Google Analytics
Looking good to me! Bread & With It received slightly less pageviews than last month but still well within the overall upward trend. There are two obvious spikes in pageviews, once again brought on by allfreecrochet.com. Thanks guys, you rock! I know last month I talked about reaching out to find new sources of traffic but it just didn’t happen. Life has it’s way of throwing everything at you all at one and there you have it. Hopefully I can do some research this month and find another source of traffic. I’m a firm believer in not having all your eggs in one basket and you should too!
October Income – $77.92
While my overall income is slightly lower this month compared to last month, there are some really important things to keep in mind. It’s important to consider the overall trend and not focus on the nitpicking of the exact amount. Consider if you were to graph your income. Ask yourself if the overall trend moves upward. This is what you want to see. The next thing you want to do is break down each source of income and evaluate. This is what we are going to do now.
Google Adsense – $53.67
I have come across several articles that indicate Google Adsense is the first place most bloggers head to for income, which is probably true. They also follow up to say that they are the least paying. I would have to disagree. Currently I am sourcing income from several avenues and Adsense is by far my most steady and increasing source of income. This may change in the future but for now I am pleasantly surprised. Income is up this month like it has been every month! No complaints here.
Amazon Associates – $16.08
Amazon is an affiliate network instead of an ad network. Affiliate sales are much more unpredictable. This income is based on items that were purchased through links on your website. This month my affiliate sales were down from last month. I will spend some time reflecting on this to discover what I can do to improve sales and boost revenue. BlogHer – $4.82
BlogHer sales were also low from last month. Monthly impressions were down which lowered my revenue. Bummer. I’m still learning the ropes when it comes to BlogHer. I’m hoping to learn about other paid opportunities through BlogHer that could also help increase revenue.
Sovrn – $2.62
Last but not least… wait… it was the least. Ha! I didn’t intend to place Sovrn last because the revenue was the least but that’s just how it worked out. At this rate it will take about 40 months for me to reach the $100 threshold to get paid. I did make an extra 10 cents though…
